Welcome to Schwabl's!
Schwabl's is a friendly, familiar place for those who would like to "step back in time" and enjoy Western New York's regional fare of Roast Beef on Kummelweck and Fresh Haddock Fish Frys served daily, with Fresh Yellow Pike on Fridays & weekends. We also roast our own Turkey Breasts w/ homemade gravy, & feature Hot Ham Sandwiches, smothered in our own special sauce.
Once here, people discover that we also serve Homemade German Potato Salad & Homemade Pickled Beets, using our original recipes from 1837.We serve over 100 Special Homemade Soups, with at least 2 of them everyday & Chili daily.
We serve Fine Cocktails made the "Old Fashioned" way with no mixes used, only fresh fruits, to compliment your meal. Our "Fall & Winter" hot specialty cocktail is a Tom & Jerry, served from Columbus Day til St Pats Day, extended this year for Local Restaurant Week. It's an old fashioned recipe, served hot in our vintage carnival glass set, started with an egg batter with rum & brandy added, hot water & finished with a sprinkle of nutmeg. Our "Spring & Summer" libation, Ebenzer Punch, is a slightly tart blend of orange & lemon juices, infused with Southern Comfort & splashed with lemon lime soda. Served from Memorial Day til Labor Day.
We believe that we may be the longest line of continuous restaurant operators in New York State and possibly in all of the United States. Even Prohibition did not interrupt Schwabl's claim of continuous service to the people of Western New York. In 1956, the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce presented Schwabl's with a citation for being one of the Pioneer Businesses on the Niagara Frontier.
